What is the difference between Magnesium Chloride and Epsom Salts?

Good question, and one we get asked alot! 

While both compounds contain a similar level of elemental magnesium, they are in different forms. Epsom Salts is Magnesium Sulfate, while Magnesium Flakes are Magnesium Chloride.

While they both have proven benefits, a key difference between the two is the rate of absorbtion in the body.

Magnesium Chloride is wholly soluable which allows the compounds to break their bonds and travel into the pores through the dermal layers and into the bloodstream. 

This simply means that Magnesium Chloride is more easily absorbed and utilized by the body then Epsom Salts.

Epsom Salts do, however have their own benefits, including muscle relaxation and helping to reduce inflammation. They can also aid in detoxifying the body by drawing out toxins through the skins pores.
